In a very anticipated soccer match the 16th ranked University of San Francisco Dons (2-1-1, 0-0-0 WCC) hosted 25th ranked Stanford University (1-0-3, 0-0-0 Pac-12) at Negoesco Stadium Friday night. The match lived up to the hype as a rematch of their 2016 meeting in which the home team Dons defeated the then-national champions visiting club Cardinal 2-1 but this time they got the better end with a 2-0 victory. The goal scoring accounted in the second half with goals from Dereck Waldeck in the 66th minute and Adam Mosharrafa notching the insurance goal 2 minutes later.
The match was also a showcase for PDL players from both San Francisco City FC (Sean Bowman, Santiago, DiGuiseppa, Noah Leong for USF) and the San Francisco Glens (Tawwab Eminola and Andre Glasnovic for USF, Arda Bulut for Stanford).

Let us know if you are interested in college soccer coverage. We will try and highlight at least one game in the fall season and we cover the teams when they play friendlies against the PDL clubs, or in a few cases, the Earthquakes during the spring. So if there’s something we may check it out because it’s about the local soccer coverage and thank you for support.
