This Week 4-6-20

There are no updates to the soccer schedule.  It’s looking like the MLS season could resume in May but the situation is ever changing.

This weekend was supposed to be a rematch of the 25th Anniversary of the first MLS match between the Clash (as the Earthquakes were called from 1996 to 1999) and DC United.

The team site has a retrospective of the events leading to the return of top flight professional soccer after the demise of the first NASL (1968-1984).  Jake Pisani (also the one person responsible for this outlet having a chance to cover the game from the pitch) has culled quotes from the key players both from the field and behind the scenes on their thoughts of that day.  We will meet again!  Also for you 90s video game junkies a clip of the very first goal in MLS history.

A post from last week on NBC Sports regarding the USL League Two season.  The games are contingent on the college players availability.  The early matches are filled with outside players before the collegiate contingent joins the club.

Last week, we posted some rugby articles from the archives.  Today, it’s part two.
