Again, here are the weekly deets. First up, the Quakes continued their road trip and this time to LA for another match against the Galaxy. This time they end up manhandling the Southern California club 4-0 thanks to a brace by Nick Lima who opened the scoring in the 44th minute and capped the game with his late second half stoppage time tally, and two additional second half goals from Andy Rios in the 52nd minute and Tommy Thompson in the 79th.
The other news, which was missed in last week’s post, happens to be with Jackson Yueill, who has signed a multi-year extension and will remain with the Quakes in the forseeable future. The deal has been reportedly set for three years, and there is still the chance he may stay long term or get a chance to play overseas. For now, JY will remain a fixture in the Quakes roster, especially with the team moving from Wondo and into a new direction.
Quakesfan has another off-the-cuff article, and this time it’s a “Moneyball” take on why the kid Cade Cowell should be in the starting lineup over Andy Rios. The fans can either agree or disagree on whether or not this is the case but the take is very interesting. Check it out.

The last bit of news is from Sunday where the Quakes and Sounders played to a scoreless draw. The result was a major improvement from their last meeting in September where the Quakes were on the losing end of a 7-1 loss and reminiscent of their meeting in Orlando in July, again with no goals scored. Their next meeting on November 8 in Seattle may determine the post season fate of either team. Next up for the Quakes is a weekend road trip to Portland against the Vancouver Whitecaps, while the Sounders host the Timbers on Thursday October 22.
