It what was the grand reopening to full crowds since March 7, 2020 the Quakes and Galaxy played to a sold out crowd. While the game was originally scheduled for Stanford it was moved to PayPal Park and unfortunately it turned into the Chicharito show. Javier Hernandez accounted for the goals in the 9th and 50th minute, with Quakes defender Florian Jungworth adding to the LA tally in the 70th minute. Cade Cowell accounted for the only score for the Quakes in the 82th minute.

The Quakes head on the road to visit Minnesota United at St. Paul on Saturday July 3 5pm kickoff while the LA Galaxy will host Sporting Kansas City in a holiday night match Sunday July 4 at 7:30pm.
