The first round pairing was set last month, with Contra Costa FC (NPSL) travelling to Salem, Oregon on March 23 to face the Timbers U23s (USL L2). That winner will head on the road play Sacramento Republic of the USL Championship April 7.
Other matches that were announced were Bay Cities FC (NISA) and Monterey Bay FC (USL Championship) – the dates are tentatively set for April 6 or 7 with the home team to be determined. The Oakland Roots will travel east to meet Greenville Triumph SC (USL L1) on April 7. Those teams will meet in second round action. As for the San Jose Earthquakes their entry into the tournament will be determined either on April 19-21 or May 10-11. Keep posted here for further Open Cup news.
