While San Francisco will once again host soccer when Club America and Real Madrid play at Oracle Park.  Club America is no stranger to these parts having played in the Bay Area many times over including 2002 and 2010 at Candlestick Park against the Quakes and their aforementioned opponent respectively.  The Bay Area is a popular destination for the Mexican club with matches in 2011 at the same current location against Manchester City, and 2015 at PayPal Park against the San Jose Earthquakes.

In addition to their 2010 meeting against America, Real Madrid has been a popular staple here with games in 2014 against Inter Milan at Berkeley’s Memorial Stadium and 2017 against Manchester United at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara.

In past years the tours have been promoted under the International Champions Cup banner, but with events returning to the fold AEG (Anschutz Entertainment Group) will be running one preseason tour in 2022.
