Our coverage was twice in San Jose – one with the main team against LAFC and the other with the second team against St. Louis City.
The Quakes will have a new head coach, naming Luchi Gonzalez to lead starting next season after the World Cup, where he is currently serving as an assistant coach. He previously was the head coach at FC Dallas.
Gonzalez does have a past with San Jose being their first round pick in 2002 but only played one season. As a coach, he will be expected to turn things around with the crop of young players coming up the ranks and the roster turnover from the previous tenure of Matias Almeyda. The team will soon turn to a domestic coach after a hyped era from the former Argentinian World Cup stalwart.
