The one game covered was at San Jose where the Quakes are yet to get a win or a draw in 2024.

Doug at Soccer Bay Area has the analysis on what went wrong.

San Jose Earthquakes remain winless to start season

The Roots begin their 2024 season with a win. Mike and Doug again at Soccer Bay Area has the highlights.  After missing out on the 2023 playoffs the team had to subtract and add to retool for the season–the article was written before last weekend’s match but the story is there on what to expect.

With Jonathan from the Roots Blog take from The Town FC we don’t think there will be obstacles in the Roots playing at Malibu Grand Prix (or a vacated Coliseum due to the baseball team’s departure for Las Vegas) despite both teams taking the East Bay market.  Since The Town FC is now playing as the former Earthquakes II team they will serve as an affiliate rather than a reserve team.   For now it looks likes both teams will be given a chance to thrive in the region with the Roots playing in the second tier USL Championship and The Town with MLS Next Pro.
