Our matches were Friday at South San Jose for a road trip to see SF City play Almaden FC and Saturday at PayPal Park for the Quakes draw against Austin FC.
The Quakes lose to Sacramento in extra time 4-3 in the US Open Cup at Heart Health Park after maintaining a 3-2 lead 105 minutes into the match. The home team fielded most of their USL regulars while the Quakes gambled with their reserves with regulars Cristian Espinoza and Hernan Lopez coming off the bench in the second half and factoring into the match with the former drawing the game even and the latter giving the Quakes the lead for a brief moment. Luis Felipe and Sebastian Herrera who provided the heroics late in extra time to eliminate the MLS club. The Republic will now host Seattle in the quarterfinals on July 8 or 9.

Next up for Bay FC after the international break is a match at Chicago against the Red Stars at the home of baseball’s Chicago Cubs Wrigley Field on June 9 while Gotham returns home to host Angel City FC on the same day.
The Town FC loses on the road against St. Louis City 2 by a score of 1-0.
