Curaçao v El Salvador

The game was played to a scoreless draw.  Both teams had six attempts but neither team could find the back of the net.  The draw was Curacao’s second clean sheet ever, as the 90th ranked FIFA team was able to hold off regional contenders El Salvador (ranked 81st in the  standings).

Notes: Darwin Cerén suited up for El Salvador as a substitute in the 73rd minute.  Ceren played for the San Jose Earthquakes from 2016 to 2017 before being traded to the Houston Dynamo.

Both teams will head to Shell Energy Stadium on Saturday June 20, where Curacao will open up against Canada at 4:15pm and Honduras and El Salvador will be the nightcap match at 7pm. Group play concludes Tuesday June 24 at 7pm with Canada and El Salvador remaining in Houston, while Curacao returns to PayPal Park to face Honduras.
