What was lost in the shuffle of news is Hernan Lopez going to Argentinos Juniors on loan–being made expendable by the form of Cristian Arango and Josef Martinez along with the acquisition of DeJuan Jones from Columbus. The rise of Beau Leroux and Ousseni Bouda also meant Lopez’s days with the team were all but done. With the resume that coach Bruce Arena has it looks like the Quakes could be contending for a higher spot in the postseason.
Next up for the Quakes are two matches: Tuesday in a single elimination match hosting Austin FC before heading on the road to play Minnesota on Saturday.
