The teams played to a 2-2 draw. Penelope Hocking gave Bay FC the lead with her 6th minute goal, while Ririka Tanno and Ena Takatsuka scored respectively for Urawa Red Diamonds in the 24th and 61st minute. Caroline Conti scored the game-tying goal in the 91st minute off the penalty spot.
The match was the second in a pair of friendlies with Bay FC and Angel City playing on July 19, while Urawa Red Diamonds toured the West Coast with a match against the Portland Thorns on July 23, playing to a 1-1 draw and losing 3-2 on penalty kicks to the NWSL club. The San Jose club will finally return to NWSL play hosting Houston Dash on Saturday August 2 at 7pm. Urawa Red Diamonds host Sanfrecce Hiroshima in WE (Japan) League play on Sunday August 10 at 2am (6pm local time).
