The Town FC defeat Ventura County FC 4-1 in what can be billed as a MLS Next Pro’s version of the California Clasico given their respective affiliations with The Town formerly named Quakes 2 and Ventura as the continuation of the former Galaxy 2 (Los Dos).
Nonso Adimabua gave The Town the early lead with his 20th minute goal, followed by Quakes first team player Paul Marie six minutes later with his strike. Missael RodrÃguez extended the lead to 3-o in the 42nd minute with his tally giving the home team a big lead at half time. Another Quakes roster player got the insurance goal with Niko Tsakiris netting the ball in the 72nd minute. Francesco Montali made a save but lost his clean sheet with Ventura County’s Jeorgio Kocevski scoring off the penalty spot in the 88th minute.
Next up for The Town FC is a road trip to Houston to play the Dynamo second team on Friday August 22 at 5pm while Ventura County continue their road trip to play Austin’s second unit on the the same day at 5:30pm.
