Quakes v St Louis City

Quakes v St Louis City

The Quakes lose another match, this time to St. Louis City 3-1. Brendan McSorley gave the visitors the lead with his 10th minute goal followed by Marcel Hartel nine minutes later.  Chicho Arango brought San Jose back into the game with his penalty kick goal in the 31st minute but it was McSorley’s second tally of the match in the 45th minute that sealed the game before the end of the half.  St Louis goalkeeper Roman Burki stopped the Quakes offense with nine saves and a second half clean sheet. The loss dropped the Quakes out of the playoff picture with three games left before the end of the season.  As of press time the team is at 11th place (35 points), one behind Houston (36 points), and two behind Dallas (37 points) who currently hold the last playoff spot at 9th position.

Next up for the Quakes is a road trip to face San Diego FC for the first time ever away on Saturday September 27 at 7:30pm.  St Louis will return home to play LAFC on the same day 5:30pm start.
