The Quakes lose in heartbreaking fashion to FC Dallas 3-2 before a sellout crowd of 18,000 and their last home game until July 22.
Patrickson Delgado opened the scoring for Dallas with his goal to open up the game forcing San Jose to play catchup the rest of the match. Beau Leroux equalized with his 18th minute strike in the 18th minute to draw the gave even at the half.
The second half was an exchange of goals with Dallas regaining the lead four minutes into that frame with Peter Musa’s strike. The Quakes once again drew even with Reid Roberts putting the ball into the net unassisted in the 81st minute. Samuel Sarver in stoppage time caught San Jose goalkeeper Daniel off guard and put the ball into the net for the game winner.
The Quakes will go on the road to play Colorado in the US Open Cup quarterfinals on Wednesday May 20 at 7pm before concluding their trip with a league match at Portland on Saturday May 23 at 6:30pm. Dallas will continue their road trip against Colorado in league play on the same day and time. All teams will finish play next weekend and will pause for the upcoming World Cup.
