The match was part of a doubleheader serving as the second game with the men’s team playing earlier. The women played to a 2-2 draw with the Nighthawks taking the WPSL Central Valley division title.
The scoring tally occured in the span of three minutes, with Esther Brossard of the Glens striking the ball into the net in the 54th minute, only for Isabella Flocchini of the Nighthawks to equalize one minute later. Paige Pineda Aliamus of the Glens responded with with her goal to take back the lead in the 56th minute. Chelsey Fang gave the Nighthawks another tally with her goal in the 80th minute, and salvaging the draw.
The Nighthawks and California Storm will face off Friday July 3 at San Mateo High School for the conference championship.
