Club Tijuana (Xolos) defeat the Quakes 2-1 in a friendly that was merely a warmup before the resumption of the MLS season and the start of the Liga MX fall schedule. Adonis Preciado opened up the scoring tally with his 6th minute strike, while Beau LeRoux equalized in the 16th. Preciado gave Xolos the go-ahead strike late in the first half. The match marked the return of Timo Werner, and the debuts of Edwyn Mendoza and Francesco Montali.
Next for Tijuana is their opener at home against Tigres on July 16 at 8pm while the Quakes will resume their schedule on July 22 hosting Orlando.
