Our weekly reports are from San Jose where the Quakes lose 2-1 to Club Tijuana in a friendly this past Friday, and Sunday in San Francisco where City continue to be league beaters with their 5-1 win over Academica SC of Turlock. Their perfect record is no more thanks to a 4-2 loss to Project 51O on the road this past Wednesday. The return leg on Saturday could decide the NorCal title.

Bay FC returns to play after pausing for the men’s World Cup with a road trip to Providence, RI to face Boston Legacy. The women took a 2-0 lead before the expansion club come from behind to draw even. Claire Hutton finally gets her first Bay FC goal with a penalty kick strike in the 5th minute and Karlie Lema adding another in the 18th. Amanda Gutierres of Boston started the comeback with her first half stoppage time goal, and Aïssata Traoré’s penalty gave Boston and Bay FC another draw. The San Jose women continue their road trip to Louisville this Friday before finally returning home on July 18 to face North Carolina in a matinee game at 1pm.
We share one final epilogue from the World Cup.
