Congratulations to El Farolito on once again winning the NPSL championship. Also, with Vermont Green winning the USL League Two title, SF City will be in the Open Cup once again for the first time since 2018.
We have a dispatch from Derek at @ryuji_shoots and he filled in for Bay FC’s match against defending NWSL champions Gotham FC while we took the night off, and once again was on the sidelines for the Seattle Reign match. Bay FC were swept in both matches with a 1-0 loss Wednesday and a 3-2 defeat on Saturday. Midge Purge scored the only goal of the match 3 minutes in and a goal scoring equalizer was called back. The match also marked the return of Samantha Kerr back to the league for the first time since 2020 after her stint with English side Chelsea.

The home team fought back to draw even at 2 each only for Jess Fishlock to score the game winner late in the match. Once again a possible goal was nullified due to an offside call.

Our coverage for the week was Saturday at PayPal Park for Bay FC’s match against Seattle. Sunday we returned to the Quakes old grounds to report on the Quakes II game against Austin’s B team. Spartan Stadium since the team’s departure in 2005 has been remodeled with the east stands now a campus complex for the San Jose State football team and the adjacent parking lot now the team’s soccer field.
