Oakland Roots’ Dominant First Half Performance Wasted in Loss to Phoenix
San Juan SC from Folsom and Almaden FC of San Jose advance in the USL League Two postseason. With Project 51O eliminating SF City, who needed at least a win and help–the first year Sacramento area club and the second year South Bay outfit get to play an extra set of games. Almaden FC also repeats at NorCal champions for the second year in a row after their debut last year in the league.

The Quakes were busy with matches here in Austin where they were eliminated in penalty kicks. Doug Zimmerman at Soccer Bay Area has his report.

And returning to league play–they lose on the road at Minnesota 4-1. Next up is a mid-week home match against Dallas and back on the road to Seattle before the All-Star break.
