Quakes v LAFC

Quakes v LAFC

The Quakes lose to LAFC 4 to 2 before a record crowd of 50,978 at Levi’s Stadium.  Son Heung-min was the star attraction with his opening goal in the first minute but it was Denis Bouanga with his hat trick that provided the offense and win with his 9th, 12th, and 87th minutes.

Preston Judd cut the deficit to two with his 19th minute strike but Sergi Palencia of LAFC put the ball into his own net in the second half of stoppage time that provided some solace for the record crowd but the three quick goals in 12 minutes was insurmountable as the Quakes were handed another loss.

With 4 games left the Quakes hold the final playoff spot with the top nine qualifying for the second season.  Their next match is on Saturday September 20 at 7:30pm hosting St. Louis, while LAFC continue their road swing, this time at Real Salt Lake on Wednesday September 17 at 6:30pm as part of a home-and-home series with the return leg at BMO Stadium on Sunday September 21 at 6pm.
