We have hot stove news with the off-season in full swing.

A bit late on the news on the 2025 champions with Gotham FC winning the NWSL title at PayPal Park 1-0 over Washington thanks to a late goal from Rose Lavelle.  Doug and Elysia have their takes on that match played on November 22.

As for MLS, to no one’s surprise (or some) Inter Miami win 3-1 over the Vancouver Whitecaps on December 5 giving Lionel Messi and his old friends a title to go along with the Leagues Cup and Supporters Shield.

The latest Roots takes are here courtesy of Soccer Bay Area and The Roots Blog with the carousel of players coming and going along with the recent coaching change.

Here are the teams that will play at Levi’s Stadium during the 2026 FIFA World Cup

The US Open Cup seedings are set, and the tournament will be truncated due to the World Cup.  El Farolito, Sacramento, San Ramon FC, and the San Jose Earthquakes will take part in the 2026 edition.  The Oakland Roots and Monterey Bay are the two local omissions as a casualty of the reduced teams of 48 from 64 clubs. Doug at Soccer Bay Area has a summary of that news.
