Not much news to report, except the Roots/Soul Howard Terminal stadium project is a finalist for a bid on the property from the Port of Oakland. The Blog has more details on this.
Port of Oakland selects Oakland Roots among two finalists for Howard Terminal
One of the original homegrown players announced his retirement. Nick Lima hangs it up after nine seasons which started and ended with the Quakes from 2017 to 2020, and a second stint last year. He also played for Austin FC from 2021 to 2023 and the New England Revolution in 2024.
Bay FC announced their 2026 regular season schedule and they will open March 14 at home against expansion club Denver Summit FC. We’ll have the details on that along with the Quakes leading up to opening night. Stay tuned for news on them, the USL Championship and the NPSL and USL League Two.
