Quakes v Austin FC

Quakes v Austin FC

The Quakes come back from a 1-0 deficit at halftime to defeat Austin FC 5 to 1.  The win as of April 23 puts them in first place in the Western Conference standings and first overall in the league for best record.

Joseph Rosales of Austin opened up the scoring with his early goal in the 9th minute and that lead held on until halftime.  It was the second half where the Quakes staged their comeback with a Jack Jasinski goal in the 58th minute.  However, it was Designated Player Timo Werner that gave the team the go ahead goal with his 78th minute penalty kick tap into the net. Preston Judd and Ousseni Bouda accounted for two additional tallies in the 83rd and 85th mintes to add to the lead.  For the dagger, it was Judd again with his second goal of the match with his 89th minute goal sending fans home happy.

Both teams have a quick turnaround as the Quakes go on the road to play St. Louis, while Austin hosts state rival Houston with both games scheduled on Saturday April 25 at 5:30pm.
