Bay FC loses to Orlando 3-1 before they and the other NWSL teams pause for the international break, and the men’s World Cup. Barbara Banda opened the scoring with her 4th minute goal but Caroline Conti drew Bay even three minutes later. Orlando took the lead with Banda’s second goal and Cory Dyke added one more to hand Bay FC the loss. The San Jose club will resume play July 5 on the road against Boston Legacy.
Our highlights from the week are here with a tour of the lower leagues. On Wednesday we hit the USL 2 beat at Kezar with SF City and Marin drawing even 4-4 in a tight battle. Thursday we returned to the same venue with El Farolito defeating road club Sun City FC of El Paso, Texas 3-2 after giving up the first goal in the opening minutes of the match. This past Saturday at Pioneer High School in San Jose, Almaden dominates San Juan 4-0 in a blowout.
