In a match that was marred by fouls, cautions, and ejections the Quakes squeaked by with a win thanks to a Nick Lima goal in the 22nd minute. That match was enough to get a 1-0 win, and their third home victory of the season.
A total of 28 fouls (15 from the Quakes and 13 from Cincinnati) plus 6 yellow cards (3 from each side), and the red card ejection of Cristian Espinoza in the 51st minute thanks to his yellow in the 15th was the focal point of the match. Still, the team was able to grind out the results in a major improvement from the season before.
The Quakes will hit the road to Foxboro, Massachusetts to play New England in their only meeting on Saturday May 11 at 4:30pm. Cincinnati will return home to host Montreal on the same day, 10 am PDT start tine.
