OFFICIAL STATEMENT:
Today, the Oakland Roots were disappointed to learn that midfielder Benji Joya was arrested in San Jose on Wednesday. Therefore, the Club has decided to release him.
The Roots will have no further comment on this issue given the ongoing investigation.
