Roots 2020 Fall Season Update (oaklandrootssc.com)
As reported yesterday, the Quakes are back with a World Cup style made-for-TV event to be held July 8 to August 11 at the Wide World of Sports complex in Orlando.
Now, the Roots will be back at Laney College with their Fall season to start September 5 with NISA to host a tournament in October at a neutral site to be announced to determine a champion. The Roots matches will be behind closed doors but if health guidelines will allow for fans to return it may happen at the later stage of the season. The good news is that season ticket holders will be allowed a credit towards the 2021 schedule or when the matches will allow crowds.
Also, the Roots will allow people to buy cutouts with the proceeds to benefit social causes in Oakland. Those cutouts will be placed in the stands and eventually be displayed as part of a mural. Details to come.
