It looks like as of now Sacramento of the USL will be the only Northern California club playing local soccer in 2020. While the MLS is Back tournament is still on the schedule, there is talk of at least a fall slate in the home markets. However, Santa Clara County has been advising that teams do not play games until November, so there is the possibility that if MLS returns the Quakes could play at another location in the Bay Area or even elsewhere where a municipal area will allow closed door matches. In our case barring any major miracle where games can be played in Santa Clara County we do not anticipate the Quakes returning to play until next year. However, in Alameda County where the Oakland Roots play and where the situation is currently stable we expect them to play their fall schedule (closed door) unless the area goes on lockdown again. Of note, San Francisco is expecting to allow closed door games for the Giants baseball team, and while there are no locations available to the Quakes Kezar Stadium in our personal view may be an accommodating venue but that is only speculation and there is nothing confirming that since everything is very fluid in regards to the status of the 2020 schedule.
