Another Sunday match back to Redwood City
While Bay Cities was able to defeat Monterey Bay in the US Open Cup, the Roots fall to Greenville Triumph on the road this past Thursday. They return to league play with two matches one on Wednesday against San Diego and Saturday against Louden United. Doug and Jon have their respective reports on that match.

Game Notes & Player Ratings: Oakland Roots out of U.S. Open Cup after 2-0 loss to Greenville
Speaking of Bay Cities in the US Open Cup, they will return to PayPal Park but as the “road” team against the San Jose Earthquakes. The game is scheduled for Tuesday April 19 at 7:30pm and will be in the middle of a homestand between league matches against Nashville SC and Seattle Sounders.

The Quakes lose to Houston on the road 4-3 and next up is a matinee against Nashville in their first ever meeting, which was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic. Kick-off is at 12:30. Once again the story from Doug Z is here.
