The Quakes defeat the Timbers 3 to 2 thanks to a game winning goal from Jamiro Monteiro in the 80th minute. In addition to his first goal in the waning minutes of the first half Jackson Yueill gave the team their first goal in the 31st minute. This was their third straight home win under interim coach Alex Covelo.

The Quakes have a quick turnaround this time with a rare Sunday match at home against Sporting Kansas City 4:30pm start. Portland returns home to host Philadelphia on the same day 7pm kickoff.
