The post is late but finally the 2003 schedule was announced on the team website, which was revealed shortly after the World Cup Final on December 18.
The team will open up on the road at Atlanta on Saturday February 25 before beginning their home schedule the following week against Vancouver on Saturday March 4 and the back end the following Saturday on March 11 against Colorado. Thanks to the new league agreement to show the games on Apple TV with select games on Fox Sports (usually on a Sunday) the bulk are mostly on Saturday with a few midweek matches on the schedule. The Wednesday fixtures include a road trip to Seattle (May 29), Houston (June 21), and Portland (September 20). The midweek league home matches include Seattle again (July 12) and the LA Galaxy (August 30). The Sunday matches will be at Carson against the Galaxy May 14 and at Vancouver August 20.
In addition, the Leagues Cup draw was announced with the Quakes most likely playing at home against Leon and on the road at Portland. Those games will be played sometime after July 21.
For this season the greater emphasis is on conference play with extra matches against both the LA Galaxy and LAFC. The Quakes will host the Galaxy in the traditional Stanford match July 1, and once again August 30 with the lone road match as noted on May 14. The Quakes will host LAFC on May 6 at Levi’s Stadium in a big Cinco de Mayo extravaganza with festivities in and around the area. As noted with Seattle, the other rivalry match against Portland will be on June 17 at home and the aforementioned match on the road September 20. The Leagues Cup match between the Quakes and Timbers will be announced at a later date.
