The team formerly known as Earthquakes 2 was rebranded as The Town FC as part of an arrangement turning the reserves into an affiliated club. The home team held the defending MLS Next Pro champions to a scoreless draw in regulation and was decided by penalty kicks with a 4-2 win.

The Town FC won’t return to PayPal Park until June 11 and will play their next three home games at St. Mary’s College at Moraga. Their next match will be on the road against Seattle Sounders affiliate Tacoma Defiance on Thursday, April 25. Austin FC II will return home to play Ventura County FC (formerly LA Galaxy 2/Los Dos) on Friday, April 26.
