The Quakes defeat LAFC 3-1 before a crowd of 43,774 at Levi’s Stadium.
Rodrigues opened up the scoring for the Quakes with his goal early in the 5th minute. Most of the goals were in the second half with Amahl Pellegrino extending the lead for the home team 10 minutes into the second half. Another insurance goal was scored by Denis Bouanga of LAFC who directed the ball into his own net giving the Quakes a 3-0 lead. Cristian Olivera finally scored for the visitors in the 69th minute but that was their tally giving the home team a win.

The Quakes play in the US Open Cup against local rival Oakland Roots (USL Championship) at PayPal Park on Tuesday May 7 at 7pm before returning to league play Saturday May 11 at Colorado 6:30 pm kickoff. LAFC continue their road trip with a match at Las Vegas Lights (USL Championship) in the same tournament on Wednesday May 8 at 7:30 pm before returning home to face Vancouver on Saturday 7:30 kickoff.
