Michael Koenig wrote about the Roots and this time he gives the NPSL roundup including our shot of the match. Here we give him a shoutout for pulling double duty.
The Soul pull off 3-2 wins this past week. The first at home against Pleasanton last Thursday and the second one on the road against the Glens. Jon at the Roots Blog had his in-game take on the first one, while the Sunday match was billed as a rematch of last year’s playoff game where the Glens eliminated the Soul. The away win gives the Soul a measure of revenge from last year, with the return leg at Oakland on June 30 could come down to a playoff spot.
The Quakes lose at New York City FC last Friday 5 to 1. They are on a bye until June 15 when they return home to play FC Cincinnati. The Town lose on the road at Vancouver 3-1 and will also have the weekend off before returning to PayPal Park to play Tacoma Defiance on Tuesday June 11. That match will kick off early at 5pm.
To close, Movie Nights are back at PayPal Park. All the details are at the Quakes website and this year for every select Monday night at 6pm (gates open at 5:30) the big screen will show Elemental (June 10), Trolls: Band Together (June 17 meet a Quakes player), Barbie (June 24), Little Mermaid (July 8), and Kung Fu Panda 4 (July 15 meet a Quakes player). All the movies are free to attend. We’ll be back next week with more Bay Area Soccer highlights. Follow us on Instagram at 3pointsport.
