This Week 4-28-25

Bay FC:

Our match report is here.

The summary is from Doug at Soccer Bay Area:

What we learned as Bay FC tie Seattle Reign 1-1

San Jose Earthquakes:

The Quakes lose to Columbus 2-1 on the road at lower.com field in Ohio.  Josef Martinez drew the team even at 1-1 late in the first half but it was not enough as former Quakes II (now The Town FC) player Max Arfsten scored the game winner in the 62nd minute for the Crew.  Next up is a return home to face Portland on Saturday 7:30pm kickoff.

Oakland Roots summary of their match against Spokane is courtesy of Jon at The Roots Blog:

There was an announcement last week that the NWSL will field a second division similar to what MLS Next Pro has done the past few seasons.  Bay FC is reported to be one of the charter eight clubs that will field a reserve unit next season.  North Carolina, Kansas City, Louisville, Gotham (NY/NJ), Orlando, Seattle, and Washington are reported to be the others.  Eventually plans are to include all the NWSL clubs.  While the league did confirm this news, nothing has been said from the clubs as of yet, so stay tuned for further developments.
