The Quakes win 2-0 over USL Championship club Phoenix Rising FC in the Round of 32 of the US Open Cup. Nick Fernandez gave the team the early lead with his 3rd minute strike off an assist from Timo Werner, who made his tournament debut. Jack Jasinki added to the tally 20 minutes later to give the home team an insurmountable lead and eliminating Phoenix.
The Quakes return to MLS play Sunday with a road trip to BMO Stadium to face LAFC on Sunday April 19 at 4pm. They will host Minnesota at PayPal Park in the Round of 16 on Tuesday April 28 at 7pm. Phoenix returns to league play on the road to play Miami FC on Saturday April 18 at 4pm.
