Quakes v Nashville SC

Quakes v Nashville SC

The Quakes and Nashville drew even at one goal at PayPal Park over the weekend in a possible final preview with the eastern club currently in first place in their conference and the overall record.  The result extended the team’s unbeaten streak to nine games, and qualified them for the MLS Cup playoffs for the first time in three years.  Hany Mukthar gave the visitors the lead with his unassisted goal in the 34th minute, with Preston Judd equalizing in the 70th for his record 16th tally of the season.  The result coupled with Portland and San Diego getting draws against Colorado and the Galaxy respectively earned another trip to the postseason.  The match also marked the return of Cristian Espinoza, who played for the Quakes from 2019 to last season.

Next up for the Quakes is a trip to Dallas who currently stand in third place with 51 points–three ahead of San Jose.  Their match is scheduled for Saturday October 24 at 5:30 pm.  Nashville continue their road trip to Montreal to be played on the same day with a 10:30 am start.
