Quakes fans can meet the newest head coach Matias Almeyda on Sunday January 20 from 1 to 4 pm at Avaya Stadium.
San Jose Earthquakes fans will have the opportunity to meet head coach Matias Almeyda and members of his technical staff at the Bienvenido Matias event on Jan. 20 at Avaya Stadium, presented by Telemundo 48 Área de la Bahía. Bienvenido Matias will take place from 1-4 p.m. and is free to attend, but fans must have a ticket to enter the stadium.

The Quakes open up their home schedule on March 2 against Montreal. They also will be on the road to play New York Red Bulls in their home opener on March 16. The rest of the regular season schedule will be announced by the league soon.

Some latest Hot Stove News. There have been the complaints about the off-season moves, or lack thereof, but it looks like there is a new player under the new regime. Quakesfan.com reports on what has been a quiet off-season for player acquisitions for the team and their take on the newest player Judson. Hopefully this is not the only one between now and the start of the 2019 season.
Nick Lima gets another callup to the US National Team. The January slate will have matches at Glendale, Arizona and here in San Jose. Here’s to hoping he gets a cap in one or both games, especially in front of the Avaya Stadium crowd.
Also, the home openers for MLS have been announced. The Quakes will once again host the Montreal Impact on March 2 in their only meeting of the year. Their last Avaya Stadium match was in 2017, with the return leg last season at Montreal’s Saputo Stadium. The Quakes will be traveling to Harrison, New Jersey on March 16 to open up the home slate for the New York Red Bulls–again their only meeting of the season. The remaining games will be announced in January.
